Day 5 - Cave of Zedakiah and Pool of Siloam |

This is just a small portion of the Cave of Zedekiah.
One of the important things about the cave is that it is the source of the Gihon Spring which the Bible says will one day cleanse the Dead Sea.
Here is the ancient Pool of Siloam where people cleansed themselves before entering the Temple. It is fed by the Spring of Gihon. It was discovered while sewer pipe (the black pipe) was being installed.
Here are The Steps of Ascent. This passageway allowed those who had been cleansed in the Pool of Siloam to Ascend to the Temple. The openings in the rock wall are where shops to purchase sacrificial animals would have been. These would also have housed the money changers.
Our last stop was a complex of Holocaust Memorials. This is called the Valley of the Communities. It is made to represent a map of every town where a Jew who died during the Holocaust lived. Most of them are not in Germany.
